The first time we met, I mistook her voice for the wind. The second, I mistook it for the song of a small bird. The third, I had finally realized... I knew someone was living in this forest.
I made my way up the river, through the forest, in search of that beautiful voice. The closer I got, the more entranced I become. I first saw her near the edge of the river where small birds gather. "Whoa! You startled me!"
She sang a song only for me. This was long ago. Now, she does not sing. She has traded that voice for a bow made of sturdy wood. "If only all human beings were like you..." I wonder if a day will come when she will sing once more...
