Hello, will you still be updating the wiki with unit info and images? I sure hope you are because I Love this game just like you. And what you are doing for others like me, who are in need of more units info, is Greatly Appreciated! Thank you so much for the time you take to do this, just like the others here. Please, I Beg you, keep it up!
Hello! Sorry if this is a bother, but I'm just wondering whether you've left this wiki? The front page has been out of date for a while and it's a bit sad seeing so many people leaving GS (Not just here, but in general) . I've been creating Unit Pages though, so all the units that have been added so far have, or should have, pages. Again, sorry for this, hope to see you come back one day!
It's no problem! What I meant to say was you can give each character a total of up to 10 of each essence. Thus, you will need 10 Life Essences and 10 Strength Essences to fully max out the 1000 for each stat respectively.
Hello, so i'm starting with this wiki... and i was watching at the unit list pages. Thanks for adding the units btw.
I wanted to suggest a change, kinda big one... i used to update Fantasica`s album, but i do not upload images, i just added the nre entries every new event. I dont mean of making an album page for GS wiki, but, i do think some kinda of separation is needed.
Like having a 1*-2*-3*-4*-5*-6* unit list, that would make loading a lot faster, and it would help people check units between rarities. Also, separate them by type of unit (regular or le) and add them links to the events they're from, as for the packs that included them or info on how the reward was done (top 30, top 100, 700 gifts, gold 1, etc)
I can agree with what your proposal. I've been thinking about it as well; with regards to the design, I figure we can use the tabview to ease up on the bandwidth usage. You can find an example of the tabview in my profile page with the unreleased card images.
I'd like to try implementing it whenever time permits.
Exactly like that, i figured if we have just one tab per base rarity things would be great.
What i'm still not sure of is what to do with all +1 and +2 units. I do not consider a 4*+2 a 6* unit, i mean, it has the 6* at front, but in the end is just a 4* evolved twice. So not sure what to do about rarites... because adding all 4*+2 and all 5*+1 to the 6* tab, would still be a heavy page in the future, and if people are looking for base 6* units and their evos, the 4*+2s and 5*+1 would just be noise. Idk
If the automatic generated table for each rarity is created, i can take the time and edit all units ranks. But every unit template would need two separate indicators, one for base rank and the other for evolutions (empty for base unit, +1, and +2)... So the unit list tab would just search for base rarities, and all base units (and their evos) would be listed together.
I'm not sure what you mean by automatic generated table for each rarity. I input everything manually, even the code as you can see from the source and history so that'll be how it is until I can figure out a way to get a bot running. I see what you're saying but that might be a bit tricky concerning the tabs. Though I'm all for avoiding the clutter, I'm not sure if it's possible to tabview within a tabview so that might be difficult unless we can side-step somewhere in the coding.
Worst-case scenario, I'll just create a 1+2 tab and we can carry on from there.
What i meant was, just sort them out by base rarity. every table would include idk, job, skill, ability, max base stats, stage (0 for base, 1 for +1 and 2 for +2), max evo break stats (for the +2 entries), etc.
So u can see between all the 4+1 units, or all the 4+2 units, or just go alpabethical or by job or element or whatever. The page would have to be protected from direct editing and we can use a side page where the stats and info are imputted. Like this, http://www.fantasicawiki.com/edit.php?rarity=10, so if anyone wants to help, we post the link at the start on the edit page, and they can go there and just update stats.
To be frank with you, this is strictly my own personal list that I maintain for the purposes of having the images ready when the unit does get released in the English version.
I've thought about doing that but the initial reason behind not going through with it is ultimately because the Japanese version may have units that will never make it over to the English version of the game as I've witnessed from the company's other games. It would be pointless to have that page for units that may never appear and as this is the English wiki containing solely content from the English release, it'd be futile to have content from the Japanese version of the game on display.
However, recent developments in the English version may indicate that we may eventually be getting the same units as the Japanese version. With that in mind, I'm interested in making such a page but I prefer we focus on prioritizing our bottom line (i.e., the pages we already have and the pages we should be making for the English wiki) first before we do that. As it is, we're still missing pages, pages are formatted incorrectly, information needs to be replaced following that huge update and we have to ensure that images are uploaded and named in the proper format. It would be best to get those things out of the way before we put our focus in delivering content that is currently speculative at best.
Yeah, that sounds good. I was just curious as to why it was on your page instead of on an official wiki page, but I understand why it isn't now. We have a LOT of work to do.
Though to be fair I wasn't considering making a page for each unit, just having a page with the same functionality as what's currently on your profile. (I figured it would mostly be copy and pasting the code and information to a different page, but I suppose there could be problems with that.) That doesn't really matter though, as there really are more important things for us to be doing. *stares at the long list of monster pages I still have to make and sighs*
So I want to start helping around a bit-- making Unit pages and such, but I'd like to know the basics of how to do so~ For the images of the units, where can I find them? Should I screenshot? I've tried looking through the GS folder, buuuut, its not working for me.
So yeah, sorry if this is a bit confusing or anything, thank you!
The unit images used for the unit pages are not available in the GS folder besides the gallery and portrait images. You can find more information on how to access these files here.
As for unit images, it's preferable to use the card image rather than the album image because not everyone that wants to help probably has access to that card and it's easier to find said card image rather than the album image. With that said, you can find those card images by either going into your friend list and holding your finger on a unit's portrait long enough so that the unit's card image shows up.
Following that, depending on your device, you'd hold the screenshot button long enough and ensure that the file is in a lossless format with the file extension of .png. Then you would just crop that file in a photoshop program and upload it using this as the filename (without the quotes and add the +1 or +2 when necessary): "Unit Name" Thumb.png". That should be it for how to find the images.
To set up the Unit pages, it'd be preferable to copy-paste the format we're currently using rather than using the visual editor. What you would do is go to a page like Natalia, Elegant Corsair +1 and then copy that format and just paste it into the new unit page while also placing in the new information. For the unit images, %2B1 is simply +1 and +2 is %2B2; formatting it in that way is how we can get the images to show properly in the unit pages.
I think that should be it in terms of what needs to be accomplished. If you have any more questions, feel free to let me know.
